Off-Site and Cloud Backups

Keeping Your Data Safe

With more instances of crypto viruses and ransomware, off-site backups have become an essential part of any IT system. Interpro have a proven track record of recovering files lost to encryption viruses, such as the WannaCry ransomware of May 2017.

Not only do we implement effective backups, we provide antivirus protection, email scanning and next generation advanced firewalls.

Benefits of a Cloud Backup

  • Double protection – Data held on cloud servers are backed up and monitored
  • Completely automated, no manual intervention required
  • Daily confirmation emails sent
  • Instant data recovery, no waiting for hard drives or tapes to be retrieved
  • Stored cloud backups are not affected by encryption viruses
  • Incremental backups available, meaning less data transferred to the cloud than local full backups each night
  • No initial financial outlay
  • Only pay for the data you store
  • If your backed up data quantity increases, you can increase your package at any time, or even reduce it after archiving

Veeam Cloud Connect

Get physical and virtual backups off site to the cloud without the cost and complexity of building and maintaining a cloudinfrastructure. Veeam Cloud ConnectBackup provides a fully integrated, fast, and secure way to backup your data to a secure Interpro cloud repository.

Veeam Cloud ConnectBackup delivers powerfuland reliable features and functionality to help you avoid the risk of catastrophic data loss, including:

Hosted offsite backups:

Get your physical and virtual backups offsite to a hosted cloud repository through a secure SSL connection with no additional Veeam licensing required.

Complete visibility and control:

Access and recover data in hosted backup repositories directly from the backup console; track cloud repository consumption and receive reminders for hosted storage renewals.

A modern backup architecture:

Leverage Veeam’s modern backup technology, including Backup Copy jobs with Built-in WAN Acceleration, forever incremental backups, GFS (grandfather-father-son) retention policies and more—all built into one product.

End-to-end encryption:

Rest easy by encrypting all data at source (before it leaves your network perimeter), in flight and at rest, without negatively impacting the data reduction ratios of built-in compression and WAN Acceleration.

Veeam Cloud Connect licensing:

Veeam Cloud Connect Backup and Replication is included within Veeam Availability Suite™, Veeam Backup & Replication™, Veeam Backup Essentials™, and Veeam Agent for Microsoft Windows for all end users at no additional charge and with no additional licensing required.

The 3-2-1 Rule

The 3-2-1 rule states you need to keep three copies of your data, stored on two types of media, with one copy being off site. But getting backups off site can be challenging due to limited bandwidth, exploding data volumes, and a lack of resources required to build or maintain a true offsite backup repository. With Veeam Cloud Connect, you can master the 3-2-1 rule without dumping money and resources into a second site or adding bandwidth—just leverage cloud backup repository services from Interpro and take advantage of Veeam’s Built-in WAN Acceleration technology and so much more.

Co-Location and Server Failover

An off site and cloud backup alternative would be to co-locate your server with Interpro and have an effective and live server failover. This server would either be hosted with Interpro or elsewhere in the country and would be a replication of your current server. Having a replicated server away from your premises will help your business continue during any local power outages or other local disaster.

There are varying levels of failovers, ranging from servers which replicate once a day, to ones which run in parallel with your live server. In the event that you experience a disaster, your failover server would step up and take over the role of main server, allowing your business to continue to trade. Combined with remote working and an IT Support contract with Interpro, this disaster recovery solution could have almost minimal down time.
